This is Green Valley Country Club in Bangkok, a Robert Trent Jones designed course within 45mins of BKK. The weather was great (not humid) and the caddy assigned to me could read the greens very well. Not having played any golf since late Dec, my tennis elbow was finally gone and some semblance of my old swing came back. Irons start to fly again although there was an unusual draw to it. Only parred one hole and bogeyed quite a few, not being able to land on the green on the approach shot was punishing my score. Final score 51/50, for which I can't complain.
The bunkers were soft, even 7 iron approaches were returned with sunny side ups! The greens were superb, and with a caddy who has tiger vision, putts were very satisfying if read correctly.
Looking forward to Lakewood tomorrow.
Dinner was at Kuang, a Chinese seafood restaurant in Rang Nam. Starter was sharkfin soup, and mains were Curry Crab, Deep Fried Sea Bass, Stir Fried Clams and Crab Fried Rice. Not forgetting the favourite soup, Tom Kha Gai...
Here's a fellow golfer with the Federbaur beer promoter who volunteered for the pic.
The night endeed with drinks with former colleagues at Soi Cowboy, a pub and bar street filled with farang or foreigners.
