M3 SMG II (E46)

Yesterday was at 埼玉 (Saitama) to see a 2003 BMW M3 SMG II. Recently got the urge to change car....The M3 (E46 model) has the S54B32 a 3.2L straight six powerplant putting out 343hp/7,900rpm. (Click the link on the title to read about the M3)

This car is a real beaut!. And brute. Tap the throttle above 4,000rpm and a raspy roar comes out from the exhausts. 4 beautiful tail pipes at the rear.

The SMG II is a sequential shift box that has 11 different modes. At the highest revs, it shifts at 0.08 secs! That's some serious shifting speed...

This car is a 2003 model and has seen 60,000kms by three owners. Not the best of examples but then its low mileage by international standards. In Japan, anything touching 10,000kms pa is high mileage.

I started the car but couldn't test drive it due to insurance reasons, and saw very clear and nice water forming at the tail of the pipes. Very clean combustion. I guess people who owned this car must know how to look after it and would not spare any expense to do so.

Unfortunately the car has been reserved for someone who only telephoned. However, they would contact me should the deal fall through after the Obon weekend, next week. Meanwhile the seach is on....

Apparently now the car is available but I hv lost interest in this one, as there are other better units out there with lower mileage and nicer condition...but if the price is right, I' might just take it...
